Just a quick review of the new Red Hood and the Outlaws
I generally prepare myself to be disappointed when reading Red Hood and the Outlaws. There are so many fangirls who gush over the “pretty” art and I guess other things that I fail to see and can’t be bothered with. This issue in particular was pretty damn awful. “BUT TIM WAS IN IT!” and it was terrible (he’s really terrible in TT, too jsyk). They tried to make this a cute exchange at the end with the waffles but I am not buying it. I don’t care how many bats you shove in an issue, it won’t make it better if the writing sucks.
This review explains pretty well some of the reasons I didn’t like it. Keep in mind, I understand this is DCnU and not the previous one so it’s inevitable for things to be different. Even if I were to treat Jason as a new character, he is still BORING in RHatO and not a likable, they are trying too hard with him. In fact, all the characters in the series falls flat for me and it’s sad, it didn’t have to be this was, DC.
